Same Story Different Game

The Hawks vs Cavs game 2 mirrored that of game 1. It was the same script but a different game and it could not have been worse for the Hawks. Another woeful third quarter once again saw them fall behind by an excess of 20 points. Their poor shooting performance dug them into a hole that they would struggle to get out of. They shot roughly 25% in both games and this trend needs to stop if the Hawks are to have any chance of making a comeback from 2-0 down in the series.

With Kyrie Irving missing with tendinitis in his left knee, the Cavs were once again short in players but not points, led by LeBron James himself. The King put up 30-11-9, falling one assist shy of a triple-double (seems to be a recurring trend now). He got the shots he wanted and they were falling. It seems as though there is nothing this Hawks team can do to actually stop LeBron or at least slow him down. DeMarre Carroll has the best chance of stopping him but is giving up about 50-70 pounds in weight and Paul Millsap is just far too slow to keep up with him. Coach Bud contemplated throwing double teams at LeBron on the post but when you're the best player in the world it doesn't even matter.

It's not fair!

The Hawks have some serious injury concerns now but, with Kyle Korver set to miss the rest of the playoffs with a high ankle sprain after chasing down a loose ball. Furthermore Al Horford was seen clutching at his leg but seems to be okay for game 3 in Cleveland.

With the way both teams are playing right now, a clean sweep of the lackluster Hawks is not out of the question. They have been dominated by the superior Cavs on both ends of the floor and haven't shown many signs of life. Goodluck to them.
