AND HIS NAME IS JOHN CENA !!!1!!
In recent years the WWE has seen many superstars leave the company for greener pastures. Whether it may be TNA, UFC or even Hollywood, the company has been clutching at straws in regards to holding onto their big talent.
One superstar they won't need to worry about is John Cena, arguably the most recognisable figure in the WWE. After joining the company in 2002, Cena has gone on to win a record 15 world titles and has quickly become a fan favourite.
While he certainly admires the work of Dana White and the UFC crew, fans shouldn't worry about Cena leaving anytime soon.
“It’s done great to establish itself as a brand, but in comparison with us, it doesn't resonate with me just because I’m a storyteller," said Cena. “I enjoy the story that we can tell in the ring and like I said, I think we do it better than everyone.”
Perhaps most famously, CM Punk left the sqaured-circle for the octagon while still WWE Champion after defeating John Cena for the title in his final match. While he's still yet to make his debut, a match with Mickey Gall has been scheduled for later this year.
Additionally, Brock Lesnar, who holds the record for youngest ever WWE champion, fought in the UFC from 2007 to 2011. He won five of his eight fights and defeated established fighters such as Frank Mir and Randy Couture.
And while Cena can't pinpoint exactly where his apathy comes from, he has a tremendous amount of respect for the the athletic ability of the superstars that step into the octagon.
"It's truly marketed itself extremely well. It has fantastic exposure. There's no denying the athletic ability that it takes to step into the octagon. It's not something I could do."
Cena continued: “I’m not taking anything away from anyone in the UFC, because their success speaks for themselves but as far as it resonating with me, it’s just not something I’m a fan of.”
