George Karl fired by Sacramento Kings

There are only a few things that are an absolute certainty in life; gravity, taxes, human stupidity and the Sacramento Kings firing their head coach.
George Karl has unsurprisingly been dumped by the Kings following an abysmal season, best encapsulated by their 116-81 loss against the Houston Rockets on the final day of the season.
Kings general manager Vlade Divac issued a statement earlier today on NBA.com in regards to moving forward without the former Coach of the Year.
"After evaluating the team's performance this season, I determined it was necessary to move forward with a new voice from the head coaching position. I have a great deal of respect and admiration for George and his accomplishments throughout his nearly 30 years in theNBA. On behalf of everyone in the Kings organization, I thank him for the contributions made during his time in Sacramento and wish him good fortune in the future."
Since Rick Adelman finished his tenure with the Kings in 2006, the troubled franchise has had eight different coaches, with none of them staying in the job for more than three years.
Part of the reason for this is more than likely Vlade Divac's lack of management skills but also the attitude problems of DeMarcus Cousins.
Boogie has been putting up All-Star numbers for the past four seasons but lacks the supporting cast that would give the team the depth to make a significant playoff push.
While rumours have been circulating that Cousins will be traded sometime before next year, the Kings have bigger problems on their hands.
Not only is Rajon Rondo a free agent this offseason, but the team is moving to a new stadium without a head coach. While the Kings will obviously announce this over the offseason, it isn't an ideal situation for the Sacramento team.
This begs the question, who steps into the head coaching role? While Tom Thibodeau and Scott Brooks are the coaches that come to mind first, it's hard to imagine either of them make the jump from contending teams in the East and West respectively, to a lottery bound Kings squad.
The prospect of trying to mould DeMarcus Cousins into a cool headed player is tough, and something no coach, outside of Mike Malone, has achieved since the big man was drafted from Kentucky.
