An unforgettable finale

One of the most anticipated days of the regular season has lived up to the hype, with Golden States' record breaking victory over the Memphis Grizzlies perfectly complementing the farewell to Kobe Bryant's illustrious career.

Kobe went out on his own terms, dropping 60 points in his last outing on 44% shooting from the field. He set a number of records in the process, becoming the oldest player to ever score 60 points and the oldest to score 50 since Michael Jordan in 2001.

It doesn't stop there but, as he attempted 50 shots from the field to break a 40 year old record for most attempts during regulation.. In what was probably the most appropriate finish to a fantastic career, Kobe didn't miss a shot in the last three minutes of the game. Five makes from the field and another four at the free throw line.

It was a fantastic farewell to an NBA legend, who will go down as one of the best players of all time and arguably the greatest Laker ever. Kobe came up huge in the final two minutes, bringing the Lakers back from six points down to what was ultimately a five point victory.

From one record breaking game to another, Steph Curry led the Warriors to a win over the Memphis Grizzlies, securing the all-time best 73-9 regular season record.

While the 1995/96 Bulls are, and ultimately will remain, salty about their record being broken, there's no doubt that the current Warriors squad are an unbelievably gifted squad.

Steph Curry broke his own record for most three pointers made in a season, ending with 401 for the year. He now holds the top three spots for most threes in one season with fellow Splash Brother Klay Thompson holding down fourth with 272.

In what was an NBA first, the Warriors never lost consecutive games this year, Furthermore they never lost to the same team twice and defeated San Antonio on their home court to deny the Spurs a chance at history, going undefeated at home for an entire season.

Quite possibly one of the greatest regular season finishes in NBA history, it's hard to imagine the suspense getting any better, but here we are gearing up for what's looking to be a fantastic post season.

It just won't be the same without Kobe Bean Bryant.
