The King Can't Do it All

Another monsterous performance from LeBron James wasn't enough to lift the Cavaliers as they fell 104-91 in a crucial game 5.

Game 5 was the entire series in a nutshell:

- LeBron James being the best player on the planet with next to no supporting cast

- Steph Curry hitting ridiculous shots whenever he wants

- Coach Kerr and Blatt constantly adjusting to each others moves and

- The Warriors ultimately being able to outplay a shallow Cleveland team

It really isn't fair what this man is doing. He gets his shot whenever he wants and can hit it from the parking lot. There's a lot to be worried about for the Cavs, including the small ball lineup that Coach Kerr.

With Steve Kerr pushing Andre Iguodala into the starting lineup as a replacement for Andrew Bogut, David Blatt returned the favour by playing Timofey Mozgov a measly 9 minutes, despite his great game 4; 28 points and 10 rebounds. This prompted Mark Jackson (heard in the video above) to make a comparison between Magic Johnson and LeBron James both playing similar positionly. Magic started at the centre spot but controlled the tempo of the game, as did LeBron in this game against the Warriors.

So just to give some context as to how much LeBron is carrying the Cavs. Magic put up 42 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists in the close out game against the Sixers. Meanwhile, LeBron put up another triple-double, 40 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists. By no means am I putting LeBron ahead of Magic BUT it is undeniable what he is doing this postseason.

Anyway enough about history, let's look at what happened tonight. Steph Curry scored 17 of his 37 points in the 4th Q, including two huge three pointers over Matthew Dellavedova and was instrumental in tearing apart the Cavs defence.

Klay Thompson was once again a bystander as the game blew past him. He scored 12 points on 5-14 shooting, but picked up 5 personal fouls, at least 2 of them completely unnecessary.

Game 6 is back in Cleveland and will be interesting to watch. An MVP leading a series 3-2 has never lost in the NBA Finals (13-0 record). But LeBron isn't too worried.

"I feel confident because I'm the best player in the world. Simple as that."

Let's see if LeBron can back up his words.
