Valdes vs LVG

Backup Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes, who arrived just days before the transfer deadline, has been shown the door by manager Louis Van Gaal. The Dutchman has expressed displeasure with Valdes after the former Barcelona shot-stopper refused to play for the Manchester United reserves team. There is "no place" for Valdes in the United squad according to LVG.

Van Gaal has since told reporters that Valdes will be sold almost immediately due to the disagreement with his football "philosophy". While it seems like a small problem that could be easily fixed by having a behind-closed-doors meeting, Van Gaal has stood his ground and put Valdes up for sale. The Dutch manager is very strict and maintains his military style managerial skills by ensuring that he is in charge at all times. When Van Gaal says jump, the players say "how high?"
On the other side of the ball, it's easy to understand why Valdes would be so reluctant to play for the United reserves team. The Spaniard was once the first choice goalkeeper for Barcelona and one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Moving to the Premier League would have been a new challenge for Valdes, who filled in for David De Gea at the end of the season due to injury. To then be asked to play for the reserves team would be an insult to a player of the calibre of Victor Valdes. He then posted this on Twitter, inferring that he wouldn't play for the U21s team either. Talk about stubborn.

Who needs Valdes when the U21 team is winning anyway. At this point in his career, Valdes has no time to be playing around with anything less than first team football and is sure to be attracting suitors from around Europe.
