Benzema Finished with Madrid?

Karim Benzema has sent Twitter, and more importantly the footballing community, into a frenzy, after posting a rather provacative picture to his Instagram.

His caption translates rougly into "let the past be in the past" and Benzema seems to be by himself of a private jet heading somewhere instead of in Malaysia with the rest of the Real Madrid squad. Benzema has been heavily linked to both Arsenal and Manchester United, both teams being desperate for a world-class striker to act as the apex of their offence.

United and Arsenal have very different tactics when it comes to signings however, with Wenger remaining tight-lipped as to whether the club is actually interested in signing anyone at al. Wenger said that he "feels good about the current squad" and doesn't seem to be pursuing any more players. On the other side of the coin, Louis Van Gaal seems hell bent on hunting down players, from Sergio Ramos to Benzema to Otamendi, no player is safe. That being said, Ramos recently rejected an offer from United and is set to sign a contract extension to stay at Madrid for a further two years.

It is hard to rule out Arsenal completely however as it was purported that at 31m bid was made for Benzema earlier in the week. Not to mention the fact that Wenger openly said "we will not be signing anymore players" roughly a week before signing Santi Cazorla who has been a magician in the midfield for the Gunners. All in all, it would be good to see the 27 year old have a presence in the English Premier League.
