Big News for the Gunners

Arsenal recently announced that both Theo Walcott and Santi Cazorla have signed contract extensions with the club through to 2019. Walcott, who is Arsenal's current longest serving player with over 300 appearances, is set to earn £140k per week, which is similar money to that of new signings Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil. Cazorla's exact wages are yet to be released, but it wouldn't be surprising if he's now on a six-figure weekly wage.

Cazorla was an integral part of Arsenal's late season charge for second place while Walcott missed the majority of the season through injury. Wenger has been very open about his reluctance to retain players over the age of 30, which is a testament to how crucial the Spaniard has been for the club. He scored 7 goals and assisted on 11 throughout the 2014-15 campaign and wil be looking to cement his place in the first team amidst competition from Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey.
Walcott meanwhile missed a large chunk of the season through injury but came back strong to finish the campaign with 5 goals in 5 games, including the opening goal of the FA Cup Final against Aston Villa. The young Englishman has long seen himself as one of Arsenal's better players, deserving of the higher wages however Wenger has always been doubtful to grant those wishes due to his extensive injury history.
In some rather interesting news, apparently Real Madrid are set to accept Arsenal's £40m bid for Karim Benzema. The report comes via Spanish News however there hasn't been much news outside of this, so take it with a grain of salt.
