Arsenal have won their sixth title* in two years after an Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain goal in the 24th minute sealed a 1-0 win over current English Premier League champions Chelsea.

With Alexis Sanchez out due to international duty with Chile in the Copa America, Chamberlain was called on to fill the void, and fill the void he did. While Cesear Azpilicueta had an unusually off game, Chamberlain was constanly on the ball, looking to make runs through the defence and constantly taking the young Spanish defender head on. The goal itself left Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois with little chance of saving it, as Chamberlain dribbled down the right wing before cutting inside and smashing the ball into the top corner with a powerful left-footed strike.
The Community Shield also saw the competitive debut of newly signed Petr Cech from Chelsea. While he wasn't called on to do too much throughout the game, there were some moments which demonstrated the difference in class between now loaned out goalkeeper Woljiech Szezceny and backup goalkeeper David Ospina.
The 1-0 win also marks the first time Arsene Wenger has beaten Jose Mourinho in 14 attempts. While Mourinho will always hold that record of Wenger, he was quick to dismiss the win as nothing more than a "friendly" and said that Wenger "left his philosophy in the dressing room" after not shaking hands with "The Special One". Who could blame him after Mourinho's Chelsea put six past the Gunners last time they met at Stanford Bridge, which also marked Wenger's 1000th game in charge of Arsenal.
In classic Mourinho fashion, the runners up medal was tossed into the crowd and ended up with a young Arsenal fan who seemed ecstatic with the pick-up.
